Karen, a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, has brought a level of professionalism and leadership to the five Personal Care Homes that she operates. Two homes in Glovertown, one in Gambo, two in Gander, and a new state of the art home opening in fall 2025, in the east end of St. John’s, NL. Karen trained at the Grace Hospital School of nursing, and became a Registered Nurse. She started her working career at the Grace Hospital on the surgery unit. Shortly after, she accepted a position at The James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander, NL where she worked as a nurse on the orthopedics unit. She then accepted a position as a Community Health Nurse with Central Health. Her experience in nursing has given her the opportunity to pass this on to the residents of each of the homes.

Paul has been in business for the past 40 years and is currently the President of the Oram Group of companies. Their companies include, seniors homes, funeral homes, Home Hardware stores, and a commercial construction company, as well as a real estate portfolio. Paul entered the political arena in 2001, and served as deputy Mayor of Glovertown, MHA for the Terra Nova District, Parliamentary Assistant to The Premier, Minister of The Department of Business and Minister of Health and Community Services. After his retirement from politics, Paul moved back to running the business again.

Paul and Karen work together, along with their two daughters, Crystal and Victoria. They are both actively involved in each business and their care and devotion to the seniors of their homes is a true testament to the success of the seniors homes, and the other businesses they operate. They reside in Glovertown, NL, where they enjoy boating, and spending time at their cottage on Gambo Pond.
